How do names help shape our identity?
Day 2: What's in a Name?
Essential Question
How do names help shape our identities?
Welcome
Yesterday, we began exploring the experiences that shape who we are.
Today, we will focus on one powerful part of identity: our names.
Names can carry family stories, cultural history, memories, sounds, feelings, and dreams.
Today you will reflect on your own name, study how Sandra Cisneros writes about names, practice figurative language, and begin creating your own Name Chapter.
Learning Targets

☐ Discuss how names connect to identity
